Holy. Fuck. Amazing fucking show. 1349 absolutely destroyed, and then Triptykon was mind blowing. More in depth in the morning.

Second time seeing 1349, first time seeing Tom Warrior. First time at The Ottobar in Baltimore, and it's a bit hidden away. We get there right at the show start time, and find a spot on the alcove above the stage that had seats. First local played a black-grind style, and weren't bad. Then another local who sounded like Suffocation and were pretty good.

Then the tour proper. Beginning with Yakuza, who were actually very enjoyable. Playing a form of post-rock, were actually very pleasant musically and definitely converted the crowd. Didn't know their songs at all.

I had seen 1349 with Satyricon, but Frost was drummering for the latter; so 1349 couldn't play any Hellfire songs. That was rectified today, with a punishing, flawless performance. Frost is absolutely insane on the drums and the guitarist was incredibly precise. I could actually hear the vocals at a show for once, and the bass was also slightly audible. I'm incredibly pleased with 1349's performance, especially compared to the first time I saw them, if I didn't know that Triptykon was next, I could have left happy.

The mighty Triptykon. I was foolishly not listening to Celtic Frost when they reunited and played 2 shows at a venue 15 minutes from my house. So I had to drive to Baltimore to see Tom Warrior's newest project. Totally worth it. "Procreation of the Wicked" was MASSIVE, and it seems they're rotating the fifth song, since we got my favorite pre-Monotheist Celtic Frost song. Their performance was beyond brutal. The drummer was very dynamic in his playing, and really made the show; especially with the intro to Synagoga Satanae. The bassist was into her performance, and didn't use her gender to take the focus off of Warrior. Warrior himself seemed to really enjoy playing, and was an engaging frontman throughout.

This is the first time in a very long time that I've been to a show and can't complain about any one thing. 1349 was insane, and then Triptykon was an unstoppable force.

Oh god, I am so fucking pissed I wasn't able to make it to this show, and I know I'll be even more pissed once I read the in-depth review. I could still trek up to Pittsburgh on the 14th, but man...

that is a great fuckin set by 1349 and cant wait to see them on 24th of this month and same with Triptykon.

how long was the show dude???

i am just wondering since going to see them on the 10/24 at the El Rey in LA on a sunday night.

Any merch reports for Triptykon besides shirts? I'm hoping they have the new ep with them since it'll be out during the tour.

After reading Triptykon board there was a guy that said they did have the EP for sale at the show even though it doesn't come out until next week.

When I saw Celtic Frost back in 2006, it got over really late as well.
