Well that was a song that he sang a lot when he was in Rainbow, so it's not that suprising that would play that. I would've loved to hear Ronnie sing that one love.

There's a recording of it on the Live Inferno album, I believe.

Yes, he played that with Rainbow regularly. I saw him on this tour and as expected he did a good job on the song. But i've never been a Deep Purple fan and have never heard the original so I have nothing but Dio's version to go by.

There is a version of it on Infero: The Last In Live that he released in 1998.
