Black Cobra -- Columbus, OH -- July 26th, 2010
BC headlined but I didn't get their set because I didn't know any of their songs, duh. They crushed though. All three bands did. Good use of 12 bucks and an evening on the town.
Sets below, order for SBL may be slightly off from songs 2-5.Struck By Lightning: Bottomless Pit The Watchful Eye Widowmaker Tightening the Noose Becoming Earth Nothing Sacred False Hope Silent and Still Howl: Horns of Steel Heavenless Oma You Jackals Beware Jezebel

![]() Also, like four of Struck By Lightning's members' parents were there, and they were hilarious to see at a metal bar. Eavesdropped on them, and that was hilarious too. But it was awesome to see how supportive and proud they were of their crusty, tattooed kids, they were definitely awesome parents.

Can't wait to see this lineup on Wednesday. I'm probably going to have to pull an all nighter to do it, but oh so worth it.

It should be noted that this is the first time in a long time I've woken up half-deaf and with a bangover. Awesome.

This is what I was doing while you were at this show.
![]() So, it's hard to say who got a bigger thrill that day - probably me. ![]() Nevertheless, I would have loved to have been there. Sounds like it was a blast. That show was on my radar screen, but alas - I ended up having other plans. I must say, HOWL's set looks disappointingly short, but it DOES have all their best stuff in it, so at least there's that. Were you as disappointed as you thought you might be? Sounds like not, which is awesome. Also, I love that SBL is still basically playing almost their entire album, more or less (wish HOWL would have had the chance to do that, too). Last but not least, how in the hell do you post a thread for a band, and then give set lists for the openers but not the headliner / band who the thread is named for? Are you fucking silly or something? ![]() (Just giving you grief because I would really have liked to see BC's set list - I know you don't know their stuff, and even if you did, it would be hard to do a set list for them. The only reason I was able to post one last Spring was because I was lucky enough to snag a paper copy of it from the stage. )

![]() 2) Howl's set was good. I wasn't underwhelmed in the least. They really know how to get your head banging. ![]() 3) Headliners get thread titles even if you don't have their set, I'm pretty sure. Also, SBL played before Howl, even if the set lengths make it look like the opposite happened.
