There's usually no in-between with them when it comes to live performances. I've read reviews of their shows at both ends of the spectrum. Never seen them myself though.

It should be noted that Ravenheart told me Primal Fear sucked live, and then I saw them, and both shows were two of the best live shows I've ever been to.

I think it has more to do with seeing them in a festival setting than anything.
