Municipal Waste -- Charlotte, NC -- June 8th, 2010
This show was absolutely awesome. I had never been to the Milestone in Charlotte before, and it turned out to be one of the best clubs I have ever been to! It was an 18+ club, which was cool -- but since I wasn't over 21 they had to hold onto my I.D., which was really my only complaint of the evening (aside from the opening band).
Zeus were the first out of the three bands playing, and started soon after 9:00. They played your really typical deathcore music, included with "brees" and the whole nine yards. Wasn't really into it, and no one else was either. Eh. Double Negative were up next, and I had been trying to see them for at least a year now. I knew the Waste asked them specifically to open this show, seeing as they are from the Triangle area. They blasted right into their set ferociously, playing a really gritty style of old-school noise punk. The crowd was relentless during their set, and I picked up their self-titled LP after their set. And of course, The Waste came on soon after to finish up the night, along with their mini-tour with Cro-Mags. They were having lots of fun during the set - more so than usual, and just dicked around with the crowd a lot throughout the set. At one point, they broke out a hip-hop version of "Mind Eraser," which was pretty awesome, haha. After they played the actual version of "Mind Eraser" (which was late in the set), they started taking requests because it was the last night of tour and they just wanted to do songs that they hadn't played in a while. One of my friends Kyle said "Creed" when the crowd was asked what they would like to hear, and Ryan Waste just laughed and started singing the intro to "My Sacrifice." The requested songs included: "Guilty of Being Tight", "Blood Drive", "Accelerated Vision", and "Pre-Game/The Art of Partying." They even said themselves that they fucked up a couple of times for the requested songs, and when people started calling for "Waste 'Em All" songs (myself included), they just said "Look -- we're already fucking up these newer songs horribly... we don't need to go THAT far back!" I've seen the Waste probably 5 or 6 times, and I have to say that this was definitely the best time I've seen them. When everyone got on stage during "Born To Party," it was just insane. The energy just culminated during that song, haha. Definitely going to catch them with Negative Approach in August. One last note -- the original setlist had "Bangover" listed before "Unleash The Bastards," but it wasn't played. MW set: Intro/Sweet Attack Headbanger Face Rip Beer Pressure Divine Blasphemer Terror Shark Wrong Answer The Thrashin' of the Christ Wolves of Chernobyl Bass Solo/Sadistic Magician Acid Sentence Black Ice I Wanna Kill The President Boner City Relentless Threat Mind Eraser Guilty of Being Tight Blood Drive Accelerated Vision Pre-Game/The Art of Partying Unleash The Bastards Born To Party Last edited by HellhammerMario; 06-10-2010 at 01:39 PM. |

I know! I hate that they do the Intro, but leave "Deathripper" out. I haven't seen them do it in a long time, though.

They need to throw in Media Skeptic off the new record as well.
