Yes it was at MDF. Really only those up front could see it (from what I hear it was so crowded in there that it impossible to see almost anything... fuck, I've read reviews that have said no animal heads were on stage when there was actually TEN of them). I actually had no clue it was the bassist from D.R.I. until I got back to the hotel and talked with Jeff Becerra from Possessed as he got out of his cab. When we told him who we had just seen live, he was like "I heard Harald from D.R.I. got beat up on stage" and my girlfriend and I were like "Oh shit, that's who that was?"

The scuffle is mentioned in the link below, but not all the facts are straight. He says that Erik shoved Harald away but that was it, so he must of missed the full-on stomping that went down right afterwards.

Someone posted a video of "Sworn to the Dark", the song that said beating occurred during... unfortunately the camera is flailing around and completely out of focus for the majority of the incident, but you can see Harald getting on stage as the song is starting, specifically towards the 20-second mark. Erik then goes after him, hence no vocals for the first portion of the song.

I am a fan of both bands, but dude got what he deserved. You enter the stage during another band's set, you're in THEIR territory!! And after shit that happened to Dimebag years back, you cannot trust random people coming on stage.

i was up front for watain's set & not much really happened...within about 30 - 45 seconds the song was back on track...
i read the article in the link provided by splinter mech, & unless this so called beating happened after the set, there was no 5 on 1 gang up on harald that we up front could see...
