Yeah, I used to always get to gigs ridiculously early, and I did it for Maiden in Toronto, but nowadays I get there when I get there. Either I get rail by the time the headliner starts or I just deal with the best I can do, which is usually the first three rows or so. It's not worth the hassle of planning your entire day around getting to a show that early, but I used to think being the only one in line was awesome.
I have never done that however, I have made my way to the rail plenty of times. Being 6'8 and 290 lbs people typically move out of my way.
The last time I got the front was up at Headliners in Toledo for Clutch last year. Neil, Dan and Tim were pretty much on top of me since the stage was about 6 inches off the ground. Are you going to the Toledo show in June?
