I agree. Moshing does make a cool visual and adds nicely to the concert atmosphere though. I've personally always liked to watch the artists play. I'll sing along, headbang, move to the music and scream but moshing has never been my thing at all. I have no problem if someone wants to release what they're feeling by doing that, it's up to that particular person on how they think they should enjoy the show. It just seems to me when moshing you're not paying attention to the performance as much, which to me, defeats the purpose of going to "see" a band live.

I do enjoy watching the pits at shows sometimes just to see how bad they can get. So to all you moshers out there, keep it up because some of us do find it entertaining when we watch you

True. I rarely go into the pit, but I always want the mosh at my shows. Like a couple posts earlier, if there isn't a pit, the crowd response probably won't be as great, making the entire show more dull and boring.

I'm not sure what you mean by "this"...is it the three-band lineup that's the subject of this thread? If it is, the tour is most definitely real, because this triad of bands is playing the House of Blues in Cleveland on July 29. I won't be going, but I just wanted to clarify that it's real.
