Waaaaaay too many.

My favorite might be Remission, though.

EDIT: Other notable ones: In the Court of the Crimson King, Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde, Red Album, Appetite for Destruction, Melissa, The Warning, Hellbilly Deluxe, Ecliptica, and, of course, Black Sabbath.

EDIT2: Well, shit. That accidentally lends itself to a nice clean top 10. Sooooo....

1. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
2. Mastodon - Remission
3. Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
4. Mercyful Fate - Melissa
5. Alcest - Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde
6. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
7. Baroness - Red Album
8. Queensryche - The Warning
9. Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica
10. Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe

Sum'thin like that. A lot of my favorite bands - Maiden, Clutch, Opeth, Rush, My Dying Bride, Mouth of the Architect, Immortal, Carcass, etc. - took a while to hit their stride. Only Mastodon of my list would I consider an all-time fave.

Alright, time for me to finally post my list. Obviously most criteria is self-explanatory, but I really tried to stay away from bands that only have one or two albums, but a couple still made the list because I just love the albums THAT much. Generally I think in order to qualify for this list, the album still has to stand up to the band's best work at any point of their career, if it isn't their best work specifically, it has to be close.

These are listed alphabetically:

Angra - Angels Cry
Blaze - Silicon Messiah
Blue Murder - Blue Murder
Boston - Boston
Circle II Circle - Watching in Silence (Still my 2nd favorite album to be put out by any of the post-Savatage projects)
Circus Maximus - The 1st Chapter
Dio - Holy Diver
Dragonforce - Valley of the Damned (Don't like the band very much, but it's by far my favorite album of theirs, so it fits the bill perfectly)
Dream Theater - When Dream and Day Unite (Incredibly underrated amongst the band's own fans)
Dungeon - Resurrection
Enchant - Blueprint For the World
Hammerfall - Glory to the Brave
Hibria - Defying the Rules
Jag Panzer - Ample Destruction
Kansas - Kansas
Masterplan - Masterplan (One of my favorite albums of the past ten years)
Meat loaf - Bat Out of Hell (Undeniable classic)
Queensryche - The Warning (Definitely my favorite behind Mindcrime)
Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica (Still probably their best)
Tesla - Mechanical Resonance
Thunderstone - Thunderstone
Twilightning - Delerium Veil (One of the ten best traditional power metal records out there IMO)
WASP - WASP
