Pinnacle -- Allentown, PA -- March 27th, 2010
This was my second time seeing the lehigh Valley's premier Progressive Rock band, Pinnacle. As with my first time seeing them, it was a free "showcase" gig in a converted back room of a regional music store, where the band played for about an hour. At this gig the band debuted their new lead vocalist and keyboard player, Matt Francisco - who I thought did a great job vocally, though didn't do much for me in the stage presence department. I guess running around a lot wouldn't really suite their neo-prog-rock-isms, but nevertheless, I felt there was SOMETHING more he could've done. Hopefully that will come with a few more gigs with the band. The group as a whole was incredibly tight.
The group debuted one new song from their upcoming CD, in addition to one cover and a couple of tracks from their two previous records. Honestly the new song was probably my favorite tune they did, so I'm very much looking forward to hearing a new CD in due time. After the show I chatted a bit with the guys as well as two of the guys from the ultimate regional Progressive Rock band - Shadow Gallery, who are probably going to be doing a guest appearance on my internet radio show in the future. Very cool guys. As usual with bands like this, this setlist was a lot longer than it looks. This show was about 65 minutes long. Pinnacle setlist: 01.The Deepest Sea 02.Forever Changed 03.Somewhere Between (new song) 04.The Fairytales End 05.love in Our Hands 06.Easter (Marillion cover) 07.Information Overload Pinnacle myspace: http://www.myspace.com/pinnaclegroup

Can you post a link to your radio show? I'd like to hear it.

http://www.myspace.com/progpowerunite Our station home/chat room is here: http://www.progrock.com We broadcast every Monday night from 6-9pm EST - show style is mostly in the power/prog/traditional metal and progressive rock end of the spectrum. We take listener requests as well, provided it's something we have (our music library is probably about 1,100 albums strong).
