I was just bored as hell throughout their whole set, I don't see the appeal of any of their songs. "Last Breath" is decent, but all I get is the "tough guy" vibe from them, along with bands like Pantera, and it's just off-putting.

I'm not saying who's right or wrong here, my favorite new thrash bands are Warbringer and Skeletonwitch; but I believe that Evile outplayed Lazarus AD last night.

You're forgetting that Metallica, Sepultura and Slayer all had breakdowns in their songs. Slayer is probably the worst offender. Are they any less thrash?

I don't mean a breakdown as in a slow-down and a simple riff (Cryptopsy's "Slit Your Guts" has a proper breakdown), I mean in the deathcore style open note chugging style, they don't work in death metal, they don't work in thrash.
