Big Spider-Man news

http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/ur...eboot-planned/

Basically:

Sam Raimi said he wasn't going to meet the 2011 date because of problems with the script.

So: Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, etc. are all OUT, new film will be in 2012, will be a reboot, will be "darker/grittier".

So, instead of making other super hero movies, of characters that haven't been addressed yet/recently, they are gong to rehash Spider-Man with a new cast, less than 5 years after the last one? Yawn. I will still watch it though......Spidey wasn't going to be in the Avenger's movie, so hopefully that will still go forward.

Sounds like a good idea to me. 3 was such a fail they might as well, all the actors pretty much sucked except for the original Goblin and Doc Oc. Maybe it'll stay more true to the comics this round. I'll try and be optimistic about it.

This is dumb. Hulk got a reboot because the first one sucked. The first two Spideys were really good.

People need to stop calling cash-in remakes "reboots". It sounds dumb.

Interesting.

"Darker/grittier reboot" might be good. Give Venom the treatment he deserves, and then maybe bring out Carnage.

There goes the movie industry fucking everything up again. Spider-Man 3 sucked because the company and fans pressured Raimi into adding more characters than he wanted to. If they would have given him the time to get a script together, it would have been an amazing movie.

I mean in his off time he made Drag Me To Hell in like what? 9 months?.......

I feel that it's just a slap in the face when movie companies won't budge in order to make a profit. Now the franchise is going to sucks major ass unless they can pull something truly remarkable out of their asses.

I would say "Well, there's so many comic books that aren't even movies yet!" but since Watchmen was such an unbelievable failure I'm going to start being more protective of my beloved graphic tomes.

That being said, I'm still very excited for Jonah Hex.
