As far as Cattle Decapitation goes, the vocalist was horrific. Recher Theatre has incredible acoustics (it used to be a movie theater) and he couldn't have sounded worse. If you could make out 1 word of what he was screeching or snarling then you must have googled the lyrics because it was a joke to hear.

I've got all of their records actually, and I have seen them multiple times.
In fact, I just listened to To Serve Man. No EEEEEEEEEEEs.

And from a completely unbiased standpoint, even if you have not read the lyrics, if you listen to a decent amount of death metal you should be able to piece together at least half of the lyrics, especially on the new album.

I couldn't resist the urge (morbid curiosity?) to check out a song entitled 'Jumpdafuckup'. It was, uhh... let's just say it met the expectations I had for it. The Sepultura stuff is still cool though.

As far as Jumpdafuckup it is what it is. Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Max sharing lead vocals on a song that makes you want to go crazy at a show. They played 2/3rds of it as a segue into a Sepultura song and it worked MASTERFULLY. The place went NUTS and it was one of the highlights of the night. Period!

Bagging on Soulfly? They're original and sound like no one else. They don't have the same dickhead logo that 50K other bands have and they're great live with incredible energy. Not 1 person was moving, moshing or doing anything during cattle decapitation but standing there watching. If you go to a show to stand there and sing along to EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and rock a bug splatter t-shirt, more power to ya. I'd rather mosh around and listen to music that makes me want to move around, jump in the pit and god forbid sing along to some catchy shit with some heavy groove behind it.

wow so much shit talking. but i got to agree with jhdeity for the most part. i'd much rather take Soulfly over Cattle or almost any death metal band. and to mankvill i don't hear anything original about Cattle besides the fact about the vegan beliefs. sounds a lot like most death metal bands i've heard. i'd much rather take Soulfly, seems like an all around fun band to see live, which i have yet to experience after liking them since i was 12. actualy one of the first metal bands i ever liked.

Right, well, both Mankvill and jhdeity, you're arguing with each other anonymously over the internet about your opinions and trying to make personal insults based on absolutely no personal info on each other. In fact yesterday, Mankvill made a 'He started it!' esque remark. Please grow up, albeit entertaining, your idiotic fights are senseless and pathetic.

Cattle Decapatation are pretty cool, as are Soulfly. Live isnt the best place to hear most Death Metal bands for the first time though, and Soulfly are a lesser Sepultura tbh, but are still fun.
