Opening with Dead or Rock? Covering Iron Maiden? That is a great freakin set IMO! The only problem?
I missed every single second of it. My car broke down about an hour from the venue and I was forced to miss the show. Not only that but it broke down an hour and a half from home and I didn't know anyone in the area. After exhausting all my options on the side of the road I decided there was no way I could fix it (it's some sort of electrical issue so there really wasn't much I could do) and I had to call a tow truck to drive me back to the nearest city, a good half hour (and $210 towing bill) away. By the time I get to the garage it is closed for the day so I have no choice but to sit around on the street alone and wait on my best friend (who lives an hour away and the next state over) to come and get me. I was lucky he came to pick me up otherwise I would have had to get a hotel up there for the night.
Anyways, I stayed with him for the weekend and we had a great time but I'm still gutted about having to miss Edguy, not to mention all the money I now have to spend. He drove me back to school today because they couldn't get around to fixing my car on Saturday so it's sitting in a lot somewhere an hour up the interstate.
Obviously not Edguy's fault in any way, but hands-down my worst concert experience ever.
