as far as rutgers goes, we have a great grad student program, but the sciences greatly overshadow the classics department, so it isnt as big as other classics-oriented universities are, not to say that it wouldnt be a respected degree tho. that might work to your advantage if youre looking for a TA job. (i took a classics class here and the professor was basically begging students to major in it)
