Whiskey in the Jar 3rd? Wow, I was not seeing that coming.

Blackened and Creeping Death are an awesome 1-2 punch at the start. Good to see Harvester and Fight Fire in there. Incidentally, Cyanide and All Nightmare Long are my two favourite Death Magnetic songs.

i can't think of a bigger buzzkill than blackened/creeping death going into whiskey in the jar

I know they always play whiskey in the jar in ireland but, I wish they'd play it elsewhere too, its one of the better covers.
an awsome set in my opinion, turn the page and whiskey in the jar in the same night pluss creeping death and harvester.

Yeah deffinately a rarity to get Whiskey in a set at all anymore. Considering it's one of the few covers they do that's actually good maybe it should show up more often. But i get why they did it early in the set since they were in Ireland and it's a cover of an Irish folk song it should've really got the crowd going pretty good.

I was fortunate enough to hear them do this last time I saw them live in 2004 and the song does kick some ass live. The crowd really loved it as well. I also like the song cos i'm a whiskey drinker myself

yeah, that's not exactly the greatest place to put it. maybe where all nightmare long is, but you're right that does sorta slow the momentum.

With the exception of FFWF (which isn't so unusual anymore) this set is way more disappointing than exciting. They done much better this tour, IMO.

But you can never go wrong with Blackened, Creeping Death and Harvester in the set IMHO. 3 covers is a little much though. I don't mind them doing Whiskey since it's not done all that often. With switching up the sets every night you're sometimes gonna get a so-so set but I think this set is OK. My only complaint is that they should've done Fade or Sanitarium instead of Turn The Page
