Guns N Roses -- Washington, DC -- July 17th, 1992
first show of the tour, FNM & Metallica only slightly changed the setlist while GNR generally went from bad to worse (and YES I was a fan).

I was there. Great show for 2/3rds of it. Highlights were Whiplash, Damage Inc, Civil War and Surprise your dead. I learned a valuable lesson about taking a cokewhore to a concert that day. ESPECIALLY an outdoor concert. She was on the 20 min plan and was gone 30 min each time. We split during November Rain just so I made sure she earned her ticket.
hahahaTook us 90 min to get there and 25 min to get home. I always wondered what I missed song-wise.

That Guns set list is practically verbatim with the VHS ( and eventual DVD release) of the 92' show in Tokyo.
I was only 8 years old at the time, but what I wouldn't give to have seen this show!!! Guns is my all time favorite band!

Sorry about that rant now onto the original thread topic. I saw this show when it came to my city. I was only 13 and it was my first metal show my dad was cool enough to take me and my brother, my dad liked GNR anyway. To this day it remains my favorite show of all time. At that time these were my 3 favorite bands so i was in heaven. The only thing that was different with the Metallica's set when I saw them is that The Shortest Straw was played second before Harvester and that they didn't do Damage i can't remember what they closed with but it deffinately wasn't Damage. All 3 bands were great and i'm glad i got to see GNR when they were on top of the world before Axl pulled all his bullshit that caused the original GNR to disband. |
