Stemm -- Maplewood, MN -- June 5th, 2009

Stemm? who is Stemm you might ask...to be honest i had never heard of them before tonight, i only went to this show to watch my friends band open up. but they turned out to be pretty cool! The band has the intro track on both the UFC video game and the TV show, so if you have watched UFC at all in the last year or so chances are you have heard there song "Face The Pain"

There setlist was right in front of me so i wrote it down quick when no one was looking.

Stemm

1) Blood Soaked
2) Devil Walks
3) As Real As It Gets
4) Wish
5) Breathe The Skin
6) Awake
7) Memory
8) Face The Pain
9) House Of Cards
10) Monsters
11) Casualty For Prayer

Memory was easily my favorite song of the night..check it out if you read this post

Stemm is from my hometown and they are a good band. I've seen them live a few times and they always put on a good show. They've been together about ten years now and have had a number of lineup changes as well as going from a hardcore sound when they first started to more groove metal on the last 2 discs. This is actually there first national tour in the U.S. and it's good to see people outside of the Buffalo, NY area getting to know who they are.

These guys have played our town 5 or 6 times and they get better every time. Their new cd Blood Scent is solid and that NIN cover for Wish is balls out cool. My favorite song by a mile is House of Cards but I like the entire cd and most of their 1st cd. Monster is much better live than the recorded version for some reason. Right now they're a great opening act but 1 more cd like Blood SCenet and they would be worthy headliners.
