Slipknot -- Lowell, MA -- February 6th, 2009
Tour: Slipknot All Hope Is Gone 2009 Tour
Support Bands: Coheed and Cambria, Trivium Venue: Tsongas Arena - Lowell, MA Date: Friday, February 6, 2009 Wow, what an awesome show. The line to move in was quick, I got in bought a Slipknot shirt, and my friends and I got a good spot for Trivium three rows back from the barricade at around 6:00, with Trivium going on at 7:00. They played an awesome set and really got the crowd going. Everyone sounded great on the instruments, and Matt's vocals were perfect. The fans and pits were crazy, and you could tell Trivium really had fun playing last night. They had a great set, although it was only a half hour set, finishing up at 7:30. The set was: Kirisute Gomen Down From The Sky Throes Of Perdition Light Light To The Flies A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr Coheed and Cambria set up right after Trivium got off, and soon they were on. They sucked in my opinion, and the crowd didn't really like them, but I did see a lot more people than I thought that were into them. Definitely not the right band for a Slipknot tour. They played from about 8:00 - 8:40. I found this set online, and I assume they've played the same songs. Welcome Home The Camper Velourium III: Al the Killer Gravemakers and Gunslingers No World for Tomorrow The End Complete III: The End Complete In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 Up next was Slipknot! It took them forever to set up and they didn't go on until 9:30, and their set was fucking awesome, but if I'm not mistaken, they did not play Me Inside. It doesn't matter though because they were fucking awesome, sounding better than they did at the Mayhem Festival. The crowd was fucking nuts and there were ten pits at once. I can't say much more except that the Knot were excellent and kicked my fucking ass with a brilliant performance. They had a killer set, and this is the correct order: Intro: 742617000027 (sic) Eyeless Wait And Bleed Get This Before I Forget The Blister Exists Dead Memories Left Behind Disasterpiece Frail Limb Nursery Purity Everything Ends Psychosocial Duality People = Shit --------------- Surfacing Spit It Out It was an awesome night, one that I won't forget. Trivium and especially Slipknot blew the roof off the buiding. What a show! |
