Metal Masters Tour -- Camden, NJ -- August 6th, 2008
According to the ticket, the concert started at 5:30. Due to work and traffic I couldn't get there until 6:45. So I missed all of Testament and part of Motorhead. However, I found Testament's setlist on another site:
Over The Wall More Than Meets The Eye Henchman Ride D.N.R. Three Days In Darkness Disciples Of The Watch Motorhead finished at approximately 7:15. Here's the full setlist, even though I missed seeing the first 3 songs: Dr. Rock Stay Clean Be My Baby The Killers Metropolis Over The Top In The Name Of Tragedy Just 'Cos You Got The Power Going To Brazil Killed By Death Ace Of Spades Overkill Heaven & Hell played from 7:45 to 9:00. I was sitting next to the soundboard and I saw Neon Knights was supposed to be the encore, but I guess it was dropped due to time constraints. E5150 The Mob Rules Children Of The Sea I The Sign of the Southern Cross Ear In The Wall Drum Solo Time Machine Falling Off The Edge Of The World Die Young Heaven And Hell Judas Priest played from 9:30 to 11:00. Their setlist was the same as previously reported on this site: Dawn Of Creation Prophecy Metal Gods Eat Me Alive Between The Hammer And The Anvil Devil's Child Breaking The Law Hell Patrol Dissident Aggressor Angel The Hellion / Electric Eye Rock Hard, Ride Free Painkiller ------Encore------ Hell Bent For Leather The Green Manalishi You've Got Another Thing Coming In conclusion, I thought all the bands (that I heard) sounded absolutely excellent. I wouldn't consider myself a die-hard fan of any of these bands, but I thought this was a great tour. I definitely recommend going! "The Shirts were a fucking rip-off though. $40 each and they were all for the individual bands, no 'Metal Masters' shirt, except for the black guys outside."

Shit, I figured if I waited this long, someone else would have a review up.
Anyway: My friend and I got there around 6, just in time to see the last Testament song, but being that I thought it sounded like crap, I really wasn't upset. I'm not a Motorhead fan, but honestly they weren't bad. Heaven and Hell were most excellent but just didn't play long enough. Seriously, what the fuck are you doing a drum solo for when you're only playing 9 songs? Especially when Vinnie Appice isn't exactly the world's greatest drummer, to say the least. Also, they could do with shortening up the rediculously long version of Heaven and Hell. Regardless, they just didn't play long enough. I can't complain too much though, as "Time Machine", and "Ear in the Wall" were great surprises and I didn't think they'd keep "Falling Off the Edge of the World" in a shortened set like that. Judas Priest had, seriously, one of the best live mixes and sounds I've ever heard. It was crystal clear, I was seriously impressed. The highlight of the show for me was "Hell Patrol". The show wasn't incredible, it's hard for me to really be into something from the lawn, but it was well worth the money I spent to buy Nostradamus to get a free ticket.

Just speculation, but I think the drum solo is included to give Dio a break. All of his recent solo tours (that I know of) have had one also.
Or maybe he just likes drum solos.
