Manowar new album/novel/movie/video game

Manowar revealed on stage at the Magic Circle Festival last week that next year they will be performing their new, currently untitled, album on stage. It is to be written with top-selling German author Wolfgang Holbein and will include a tie-in novel, movie and video game.

Sounds horrific to me.

A video game sounds ineteresting, hopefully something where you just hack and slash thousands of enemies to death, and it's a good thing they're hiring a professional writer to do the story for them. Manowar's done some pretty epic stuff in the past, even if the recent album was a little off target.

Don't let me down Manowar!

Hey wait a second, wasn't Manowar supposed to play everything from Battle Hymns to Kings Of Metal at that festival?

Something along those lines, yes. They headlined two out of three days.

Whereby they could have picked any six albums at random and would have ended up playing pretty much the same set

I like the album/book concept, the movie isn't a bad idea either, but the whole video game thing seems like a bit much... but Manowar is not the band that should be doing this... yet it doesn't surprise me at all that they are.

Agreed. There are plenty of bands I could think of that should do this, though.

Some great concept albums could've lent them self very well to book or movie format...
Operation : Mindcrime comes to mind.
Savatage's "Streets" and WASP's "The Crimson Idol" wouldn't be bad either.
