Janick is a decent soloist when he wants to be. Most of his album solos are quite good, especially on slower numbers like Blood Brothers and Wasting Love. However, live Janick is a horrible soloist 90% of the time. Check Death on the Road for proof. His Paschendale, Dance of Death, and a few other solos are just... bleh on there. Also, I'm just bitter because he still plays many of H's solos and just slaughters them.

I would really like to hit the Cleveland show also, but that 7 hour drive keeps getting in the way.

Is it just me or did it seem as though he is just not really playing much of anything at all most of the time on the recent tour? Other than FOTD is he just pretending?

and H's solos in:
Moonchild
Revelations
Heaven Can Wait
The Trooper (with H)

that's it I believe... now if they just phase him out a little more things will be perfect.

a) Doesn't he play H's spot on Hallowed too?

b) If he plays along with Adrian on the Trooper why the hell can't he just do tht with all of Adrian's other solos?

a) Yeah, I forgot that

b) My guess is because Janick plays solos NOTHING like the originals on every solo except The Trooper.

Janick does a good job on Moonchild IMO. But I think he should give back Heaven Can Wait and/or Revelations.

Yeah he certainly does Moonchild better than most of the other solos of H's, but that's not saying much.
