Except that Van Halen and. Van Hagar are two seperate entities that should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

If we're talking Van Halen it's still by a small margin that I prefer Clutch anyways It's really different styles of rock anyways so hard to compare.

Since Sleater-Kinney aren't around anymore, I'd say Clutch are easily the best active American rock band.

I was all ready to rave about how much better it is than the 9-new-songs-out-of-10 set that I saw on 11/1, but on second thought I don't think I would trade "Ballad of Ridley Walker" and "Black Umbrella" for any of the older stuff they played for ya'll.... Although I do love "Cypress Grove"... But it does speak to the fact that 45 minutes is painfully short for a band like Clutch to perform.

You pretty much nailed the "Fall of Troy" guy; his stage presence is irritating as hell. Only I don't think I'd peg his antics as egotistical arrogance. To me it smacks more of insecurity -- like he doesn't believe enough in the songs, or even in his own musicianship, to let them speak for themselves.

All the bitching in your review about the "emos" seems pretty inane to me. Who fucking cares? Unless they're actively going out of their way to bother you, let people be and enjoy the show however they want.

Agreed. Also, I would have kicked your ass if you'd tried to shove your way to the front. I HATE that shit. Should've gotten there earlier.

"Black Umbrella" is my least fave off that album so I don't miss it, but "Riddley Walker" would've been sweet.

You could be right. Fact is, he's just a dork.

I'd say constantly bitching about Clutch and still not relinquishing their spot up close was pretty bothersome to me. I told them I was leaving after Clutch and they could take my spot after I left, you don't see me shoving my way up during Fall of Troy so as to ruin it for the kids who were into them just to get a 'better' spot for Clutch.

Good then maybe we would fight if we ever went to a show together Doing it in the middle of a band's set is worse than between bands, which is when I did it.
