Hey folks, just got back from yet another QR show... it was a real blast. I'll have the full report soon, but I at least wanted to note that they debuted The Police's "Synchronicity 2" playing it as an encore after Pink Floyd's, "Welcome to the Machine" - which was pretty cool live. I also got a chance to meet the band... so hopefully pics will be back from that soon. And for what it's worth I could hear the sound check loud and clear (although I wasn't inside by the stage) in which they did "Best I Can."

Basic notes though: the band was in fine form. I enjoyed the set. A good mix of old and new, I especially liked the focus on Rage For Order. Also, the two covers were actually pretty cool... I think they're well done, so hopefully the whole album matches the quality of the two they've showcased so far.

They played 3 from Operation: Mindcrime and 3 from Operation: Mindcrime II. Which is just right imo... they toured with the full Operation Mindcrime in 2004, 2005, and 2006... it's about time it got a break.

I wish they would play I Will Remember after Screaming In Digital.

Still, thats an awesome set, like an extended version of the opening for Priest set in '05. Great shit.

It really was! I think it's interesting that last year I saw QR at the same venue, and it was the 2-set full production thing, and then this year, it's just them with a regular set... no fancy anything, just a backdrop. Just as kickass though... I'm glad the set isn't as mellow as the first show I saw from them this year (although "Real World" was a pretty cool treat.) The covers are really cool... I hope they bring out a few more live in the future. Geoff did pretty awesome on sax for "Welcome To The Machine."

Wilton was telling my friend and I that he wished they would've been able to play "Neon Knights" for the show, and he also said they probably won't be playing it for the H&H shows ("we don't want to get kicked off!") But after hearing how well done the two live covers were, I'm looking forward to hearing the whole album.

Yeah, they haven't played that in a long time... I'd much rather see that then "Bridge" or "Until There Was You" - I like Bridge, I just think it's kind of a weird one to play without DeGarmo in the band.

Yeah, it is... I like when they throw out that many Rage For Order songs.

Yeaaaaaah. I still would love to see Bridge, but maybe other Promised Land tunes would be better suited for the current lineup (awesome album, plenty of good material that they rarely draw from ). I also think they should just totally drop Until There Was You and bust out another old song from The Warning. But at this point, I'm just dreaming, the set is good enough as it is.

One correction...

One correction to the list, they played Eyes of A Stranger as their last tune of the regular set after Empire.

It was a great show, typical Queensryche precision and a lot of fun. Great venue as well. From front row center it looked like the sax that Geoff was playing during Welcome to Machine was sampled and he was faking it, but I'm not 100% sure. Wouldn't be the first time that they've sampled some stuff live...

My only complaint, and I know I'll be in the minority here, could they please give NM 156 and Screaming in Digital a break? They have been in every set list (except the OMC tour, obviously) for at least the last four tours. Give me anything off of Promised Land, how about En Force from the Warning, or Right Side of My Mind, Liquid Sky, or anything off of Q2K, which I personally believe is on of their best.

I agree that the covers were great and the overall setlist choices were great...
