Why is that Rush, a band many years older than RHCP, can go out every night and play a setlist that is twice that size?
9/9 - Ghoul
9/15 - Accept, Raven
9/26 - Overkill
10/15 - Amon Amarth, Sabaton

That being said, I do have reasons why they could.

1) From what live footage I've seen of RHCP, they move around a little more than Rush do. Rush focus more on playing and leave the stage show to the lighting/video crew.

2) Rush do take breaks in between sets, so I'd like to think that's a slight energy recharge. I'm sure RHCP could do the same if they wanted to (but only as long as the second set consists of nothing but pre BSSM stuff ).
