heaven & hell + Steve Vai + various others.

I'd choose those 2 indie fests over that i think.
Seeing H&H this year anyway.

Of all those gigs I'm expecting Vai to be the worst! By some way.

Are you actually familiar with the "various others"? You put them against the worst (and most artificial) "stoner" band there's ever been, the One Song Chili Peppers and a hip hop band? And the teenage radio crap comes out ahead?

Do we have any metal fans here? Anyone?

I'm probably on the wrong website. But then, in a sense, we're probably all on the wrong website.

But no, for me the world doesn't begin and end with metal, so I'd take excellent new bands like The Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys, not to mention a hip hop legend like Wu Tang Clan, anyday over warmed-over metal acts who are 20+ years past their heyday and were never really any good to begin with (i.e., Heaven and Hell + Candlemass).
