Ozzfest Band Schedule Posted

So, ozzfest.com has only give out the schedule for the very first show, which is in Seatle. I havent been to any previous Ozzfest, but it looks like there is the traditional 20 minutes sets for rotating bands, with 5 minutes between. Another tidbit, the order that the rotating slot bands are playing, is the same order as if you take the bands as they are listed on Ozzfest.com and flip it upside down. I guess that kinda makes since, but I wonder how they will "rotate" them for the other shows.

As long as Chthonic play Quasi Putrefaction, Daath play Subterfuge, and 3IOB play Goatriders Horde and Deadly Sinners, I will be fine with those set times.

3 Inches of Blood should play 20 minutes, then take their set out to the parking lot and play another 5 hours.

The rotating second stage bands should get 30 minutes and the non-rotators 40. 20 minutes is ridiculous. 60 minutes for the second stage headliner is absurd as well.

20 minutes is too short. Sounds lets most everyone play like 25 minutes. That extra makes a difference. 20 minutes lets most bands play 3-4 songs. With a band you like, that goes by very quickly. One more song really makes a difference. It's like just as you're getting into a band, they have to leave the stage and you're like "FFFFUUUCCCKKKKK!"]


The 45-60 minutes for the headliners has worked in the past, so I'm pretty comfortable with those.

I'm little leary of the late start time. First, there's something special about metal at 9AM in the morning. Second, there's a certain pace of the day to which I've gotten accustomed. I wonder how much goof-off time I'll have between bands I want to see, the backstage tour, etc. I can see time flying by already.

Related, there's 6PM ish main stage start. Again, a pacing issue. Normally, there's like six bands on main stage. The first two allow you to get settled in, although I know the bands hate because so few people migrate over from second stage in time. Things don't start kicking until about the third band.

My analysis of the rotation (based on what it likely be for my ozzfest)

THE SHOW DOWN -- first band. won't skip. probably should.
NILE -- Must see. One of the reasons to attend Ozzfest.
ANKLA -- no plans. Listen briefly then beer run.
CTHONIC -- Never heard their music. Really curious.
IN THIS MOMENT -- Curious. Hey, there's a girl in the band.
DAATH -- Curious. Black Metal Kaballah.
3 INCHES OF BLOOD -- Must see. Slay all available orcs. PLARS 07 gift = free vorpal blade (overkill, since average orcs HP = 1d8)
CIRCUS DIALBO -- no plans. probably will start wandering. Killing orcs makes you thirsty.
MONDO GENERATOR -- probably skip in favor of PLARS tour
BEHEMOTH -- likely miss them with leisurely return from tour.
HATEBREED -- Watch 1/2. Leave For Main Stage.

LORDI -- I want to see their set.
STATIC X -- Listen for a few minutes. Probably Beer Run / Pee Break.
LAMB OF GOD -- Seen 'em plenty already. Watch most of set anyway. Prep for Ozzy.
OZZY -- OZZZZYY!

I only want to see Nile, Behemoth, Cthonic, Lordi, and maybe Ozzy..depending on how he sounds is weather i'll stay for his full set or not.

From what I have heard, no band on second stage is really TERRIBLE...I would love for longer 3IOB, Daath, Chthonic, Nile sets....the real pain will be having to sit through Static X and Lamb Of God for nearly two hours.
