This is really starting to bother me. I think I'm the only person who genuinely thinks this album is a dissapointment. I just feel it lacks that good Symphony X magic. I feel that the vocals are too harsh, the guitars too heavy, theres not near enough piano, keyboards, and orchestration, and it just generally falls flat for me.

Every single song on this album just made me want to listen to whatever earlier song it was a clone of. There are no new ideas, just weaker rehashes. Boo.

I don't feel me not giving it a chance is the problem. I've listened a number of times extensively. It just doesn't really do it for me. I think the title track is probably one of the best songs they've ever written but the majority of the album just doesn't grab me. I think lately just about every band has been thinking the only way to "evolve" is to get heavier, usually by adding nu-metalish guitar riffs that are just the same syncopated chord for 32 measures while the vocals are harsher than necessary. It's ruined a number of prospect releases this year for me.
