Nemesis has raised a really good point. Generally, topics aren't enforced but sometimes, especially with most sticky threads, offtopic really messes up the purpose of the thread. Since opening the site up, our non-registered users have increased substanially. If you want to them to register and feel welcome, spamming a thread like one that welcomes n00bs with stuff that goes on in every other general chat thread doesn't help.
