I was eyeing that Astral Doors record all year, but it ended up being one of those that unfortunately just slipped through the cracks They're a very cool band though. As for the rest of it, nothing else stands out too much from what I don't already know of, although Circle II Circle sounds cool as well I'll try to check 'em out in the new year.

Cool, yeah, the Astral Doors CD is quite good... it's really nice to see a band around in 2006 that has an organ player. Haha. It's a really great throwback... it's like what old Dio would sound like redone with modern production and great guitar sound and duel leads.

Nice, good to hear... if you're into melodic and power metal you'll definately love it... most of the songs are completely lacking in a "cheese" element, which is always a great plus... Also, I think Gus's playing and writing just keep getting better, and Apollo is the perfect vocalist for them IMO.

How is the Between Heaven and Hell album? I've heard it is good also! And what about the other two? And why so many different singers?

Well, I personally feel like the further back you go with Firewind albums, the less melodic they get, and also the less good they get. Between Heaven and Hell is a lot heavier and has more of a speed metal edge to it, but I feel like the actual substance of the material is lacking... Also, as time progressed, they've gotten subsequently better singers, though I didn't have a problem with the last one. If you really like Allegiance, I'd also recommend Forged By Fire.
