I have yet to experience that. I was reading Blender's "The 50 worst things to happen to music" and that was number 49, and I was like "there's a guy who yells for Freebird at every concert?"

No, not literally at every concert. It has just become somewhat of a running joke at metal shows. I have heard it a few times, including at a Rob Zombie show this year when Rob asked the crowd for requests.

I am not sure actually. I missed the 2nd stage at OzzFest 2005 so I did not see his set. That would seem like an odd choice if he did play that.
