100? That's absurd. IMO if you buy 100 new albums in a year you need to seek help, have too much money, and are probably just buying new releases for the sake of buying new releases.

I only bought about 40 of them, downloaded the rest. And I am not gonna pursue 100, I'm gonna sit on the 90 I have now.

I'm also a semi-aspiring music journalist so I gotta start somewhere It's fun to collect albums from now to look back across the years; what's going on now may not be there in a couple years, so it's cool to be there when it's 'going down', so to speak.
