Hello to all. I'm now posting a review of my own band's show at the Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 23rd, 2005. It was about 7 or so local bands doing fairly short sets, and we went on first. This was the first show we ever did where we played all original material, well... kind of... we still can't drop the ending of Hallowed Be Thy Name off our closing song when we play it live cause it just sounds damn awesome:
Blood and Tears
Bring Me Down
We Will Rise
Overall, the show went very very well with only one big exception. Towards the end of the first song, my D-string broke, so I finished that and the next song with it. At that point, I made an announcement over the PA to see if any of the other guitar players there were willing to let me use their guitar to finish out our set. A guy stepped forward and handed me a Squier Strat... which turned out to be the worst guitar I've ever played. I had to struggle the whole time to not sound like compelete shit... but besides that everything else went great and totally according to plan. A fairly good crowd for us, we sold 52 tickets and there were many other people there for other bands... so we did pretty good, we got a lot of positive feedback after the show... and the venue's bookie said that he's giving us the opening slot for the George Lynch show there in about 6 weeks. No exact date yet though.
