The Dillinger Escape Plan -- Chicago, IL -- April 11th, 2014
Showed late and didn't see Shining.
Showed up during Retox. They did nothing for me.
Trash Talk were up next. I really like them on record but fuck they bored me live. The vocalist looked like the offspring or Jason Mewes and Robert Trujillo. They didn't sound too good. Spend some songs up way to much and slowed others down. Singer kept diving since there was a barrier and standing on the crowd. He prolly told the crowd at least 5 times to circle pit almost begging them. He also taught the crowd to headbang. They acted like a junior metalcore band with the talks between songs. Last song their guitarist climbed the rafter in the venue and just stood there.
Trash Talk Set :
Well of Souls
Sacramento Is Dead
Lepers to Feed the Lepers
Birth Plague Die
Dillinger Escape Plan as always killed. Super loud, intense, and insane. Greg as usual was running around like a madman and Ben is a superhuman with jumping around. During one song Ben walked on the crowd into the middle of the venue then stood there before playing for a minute and surfing back. During the last song i guess Greg climbed the rafter and jumped. One Of Us Is The Killer is also one of the best live song ever. Happiness Is A Smile was cool. And as always 43% Burnt Destroys.
DEP Set :
Farewell, Mona Lisa
Room Full of Eyes
Happiness Is A Smile (new song)
Hero of the Soviet Union
One of Us Is The Killer
When I Lost My Bet
The Mullet Burden
Come To Daddy
Sunshine The Werewolf
Also since I got there late the merch guy said he was out of the special edition 7"'s but after talking to my cousin said he might put a few out but will only sell it during DEP's set. So during one song we went down to the merch table and I got one and my cousin picked up a few of them.
It's a light pink colored vinyl with no label on it and a crazy cover. $10 for the vinyl with one song.
