Abrams is having to force the creation of a new story based on a present release date, which is entirely likely to negatively effect the quality of the film. Directors should be able to spend as much time as they need composing a script, then
take it to the studio for a green light and then
set a release date based on the completed screenplay.
As we have it, Disney is being anxious and greedy, trying to cash in as soon as possible on its cash cow, forcing Abrams to speed his way through all the motions.
