Megadeth -- Detroit, MI -- November 27th, 2013

Last night August Burns Red was also in town. I absolutely LOVE that band, and I have not seen them in a few years since their LEVELER tour. However, the other bands at that show didn't really do it for me. I've seen Megadeth 3x in the last 5 months now, but I was also really excited to see Fear Factory & Nonpoint as well.

Nonpoint opened the show. I've seen them between 25-30x now. They are one of my very favorite bands. As a live band they have an energy that few bands match. After their first song they said, "For those of you who don't know who we are, we are KoRn." Then they started playing "Blind." That was funny. The crowd had a decent reaction to Nonpoint. Some of the older fans in the crowd were apathetic toward them, but that is to be expected. I thought they played a good set. I was super-psyched that they played "Dangerous Waters." That was awesome!

Nonpoint setlist
Dangerous Waters
H.I.V.E.
The Truth
International Crisis
That Day
There's Going To Be a War
Bullet With a Name

This was my 2nd time seeing Fear Factory. I saw them at Harpos a few years ago on their tour w/ 36 Crazyfists, After The Burial & Divine Heresy. Fear Factory was excellent at that show, so I was looking forward to seeing them again. They brought the heaviness as expected. For me, the highlights were "Edgecrusher" & "Archetype."

The Industrialist
Shock
Edgecrusher
Damaged
What Will Become
Archetype
Demanufacture
Replica

Megadeth headlined. Their setlist was very similar to their setlists from Gigantour and the Iron Maiden tour earlier this year, but that was to be somewhat expected. I thought they were playing a good set, but after "She-Wolf" they said they were having some sound problems. They took a few minutes to fix it, and then they came out and apologized, saying that we deserve much better than this. Um... OK. I didn't notice any problems at all. Then later David's bass didn't work to start "Peace Sells," so he had to get a new bass. Oh well. It wasn't that big of a deal to me at all. I thought they played a good set. I guess the band noticed something I didn't.
