Anathema -- Vancouver, British Columbia -- September 28th, 2013

The show started off with Mamiffer who were fucking awesome, really cool band.

Next up was Alcest. They had done a free acoustic mini-set earlier that afternoon at Scrape Records, where they played Autre Temps and Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde for 20 or 30 people and that was awesome and definitely got me excited for the show. The full set certainly delivered.

Last time I'd seen them there had been a low turnout, shitty sound mix, and just not much energy from either the band or crowd. This time around it was incomparably better, with good sound, lots of people there, and the band looked like they were really enjoying themselves. I'm glad they've started touring regularly and hopefully I'll see them again in the near future.

Setlist:
--------
Autre Temps
Là Où Naissent Les Couleurs Nouvelles
Les Voyages De L'âme
New Song
Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde
Beings Of Light
Sur L'Océan Couleur De Fer
Percées De Lumière
Summer's Glory
New Song

And then Anathema came on finally and did an awesome set. It was heavily focused on stuff from the last few albums but I assume that's pretty normal for them. They put on an awesome performance and looked like they were having a lot of fun. This was their first show in Vancouver and I hope they'll do more North American tours in the future.

Setlist:
---------
Untouchable, Part 1
Untouchable, Part 2
The Gathering of the Clouds
Lightning Song
Thin Air
Dreaming Light
Deep
A Simple Mistake
A Natural Disaster
Closer
Fragile Dreams

Merch was cheap, only $20 for t-shirts and vinyl (at least Mamiffer's vinyl, Alcest had The Secret on vinyl but I didn't check how much it was). Unfortunately, due to being one of the last shows on the tour, many shirt sizes were sold out, with Alcest having only Large sizes left.
