Desert Uprising -- Phoenix, AZ -- September 13th, 2013

Bought a 2 day pass for this radio hosted festival since a friend of mine wanted to go the first day and I wanted to see the second day anyways for AiC. Was a fun day overall despite the heat. All that Remains was okay, a decent opener. HIM played afterwards but I ignored their set, wasn't very impressed. Halestorm was fantastic in the 40 minutes they got, playing their hits, while also including their cool cover of Dissident Aggressor. Volbeat was another band that I was looking forward to seeing and they didn't disappoint. Hearing Hallelujah Goat was absolutely fantastic. I had been wanting to see Avenged Sevenfold for years since I was a teenager, and while my musical tastes have changed a bit since City of Evil was released, they put on a hell of a show. They mainly focused on their most recent two albums, but it was a great performance imo.
