Melvins 1983
Released on August 21st, 2012
Label: Amphetamine Reptile

King Buzzo – guitar, vocals
Mike Dillard – drums
Dale Crover – bass, vocals

1. Psycho-Delic Haze
2. Stick ‘em Up Bitch
3. Stump Farmer
4. Walter’s Lips (Lewd cover)

Now things are just getting confusing. First the Big Business guys join. Then they do Melvins-Lite with Trevor Dunn on bass but insist that the Big Business guys are still in the band, just a different version of the band. Now they release this with their original drummer and Dale on bass. So who are the Melvins anymore? Is Mark Deutrom going to come back and they'll have a forth version of the band that makes good music? I didn’t even know this existed until I was researching for this thread. So I decided to at least check it out online. It’s really nothing to get excited about. Musically it’s very similar to the Big Business stuff just with way less drumming. Vocally it’s the same. And the guitar tone is shit. Stump Farmer shows some promise. Maybe with some better production and mixing they’ll make a decent album with this line-up.
Best Song: Stump Farmer
Rating: 2 out of 5
