Alice In Chains -- Clarkston, MI -- August 24th, 2013
I got there about 10 min before Coheed & Cambria started. This was my 4th time seeing them, and they're always fun live.
Jane's Addiction played next. I had seen them 10 years ago on their Lollapalooza tour w/ Audioslave & Incubus. They're just a fantastic live band... period.
Alice In Chains headlined, and I had no idea their set was going to be so awesome. They sounded perfect, and the light and video show was just right (not overdone, but good enough to add a lot to the live show). The highlights for me were "Your Decision" and "Nutshell," which they dedicated to Layne Staley. Those 2 songs were absolutely amazing... worth the price of admission. I am really surprised to say this, but this was definitely one of the best shows I've been to this year. Setlist:
Check My Brain
Dam That River
Man In The Box
We Die Young
3/6-7 It Lies Within
4/24 War of Ages
5/16, 7/28 & 8/15 Slipknot
