This album is okay, just okay. I still had a pretty sour taste in my mouth from that Fantomas+Melvins album that had come out two weeks earlier but I thought maybe it was just one misstep. Black Stooges is good for the first half but starts falling apart and ends pretty anti-climactically. The Fool, the Meddling Idiot is really good and has one of my favorite song titles ever. And the Anti-Vermin Seed is a song that you just don’t want to fuck with. But two and a half songs can't save a sub-par album. The rest is pretty boring, standard hard rock. Nothing exciting. This was also the album where I started to notice how fucking terrible Mackie Osborne's artwork is.
Favorite Song: the Anti-Vermin Seed
Rating: 2 out of 5
