The whole May 19th deal wasn't all about the movie. I seem to remember that Kane said something about that was the day of the fire at the funeral parlor that burned him, killed his stepdad (Taker's father) and his mom. I've really liked his work with Daniel Bryan but Kane is the greatest psycho character of all time in wrestling and he needs to go insane again after team hell no is over.
It was all about the movie, they just actually had to find some way to end it after the movie came out. I give them kudos for coming up with the family story rather than just dropping it. And I seem to remember them doing a little sort of joke segment with Kane around May the following year, or the year after that.
It wasn't an angle I loved or hated but it's one of those things I can never forget, since it happens around my birthday.
