M3 Fest Day 1 -- Columbia, MD -- May 3rd, 2013

Day 1 of the um typically Hair band festival in MD.
Full review

Today was Danger Danger, KIX, and the oddly heavy choice of W.A.S.P.

Danger Danger were good...better than I thought they would be

Kix was great as usual. A really hard act to follow!

W.A.S.P. I was most interested in, as I had not seen them before. They started out pretty good, got stronger (particularly around LOVE machine). HOWEVER.... IMO Blackie blew it and the 30 minute Crimson Idol set was...underwhelming. This mighta been good for deeper WASP fans, but I found myself getting ...bored. To top that off, throw in a drum solo, a random video w/ Spinal Tap, and another sobering video of like...dead soldiers, and you have the least feel good set of the night now. Very similar to how Queernsryche had a rollercoaster set (not in a good way) last year at M3 day 2.

Overall, fun, but W.A.S.P. could have been so much better.

Coming soon...Day 2 of 2013.
