For Montreal the night before, same setlist, but without Princess Of The Dawn.

Both were killer shows, and the very first of the U.D.O. band in Canada ever. All the band was on fire. The 2 new guitarists rip and Udo's voice was spot on. His voice is pretty much the same as it was in the 80s. I was glad he concentrated on the U.D.O. stuff, as Accept is alive and well, and touring. That gives us the fans 2 excellent bands in the same style.
The one new song played (Metal Machine), from the upcoming Steelhammer album, was very good, a fine mid-paced headbanging song.

That St.Ferdinand show was a very special one. This is a little town of around 2,000 people, remotely located between Quebec City and Montreal. A really unlikely place to get a metal show with an international band like U.D.O. The promoter is a guy who works in a local forgery (Style Metal) that is a huge Udo/Accept fan. It looks like he worked 5 years to convince Udo to come and play a show in the forgery (turned into a concert venue). It finally worked this year, and it resulted in that little North American tour we got. The guy got some special effects for the show, like a fire blower and a huge "metal" ball made of plastic or soft material that bounced over the crowd during Balls To The Wall (a bit like when Metallica had all these black balloons at the end of their shows). He even forged a real metal heart for the song of the same name. Seems like Udo was impressed with all of this.
