As I Lay Dying -- Lawrence, KS -- April 2nd, 2013

Poop, had this all typed up and it got deleted..anywho this is about a week late now, so I won't go into too much detail.

This was a really last minute last minute show that ended up costing me way more than it should, but altogether it was worth, As I Lay Dying is always a great show and it was a chance to take my little brother to see one of his favorite bands.

Because of the last minute decision and some car troubles we ended getting there late and missing most of The Chariot, which sucks because I was actually wanting to see them. I did get to see their last couple of songs, they were like a water downed Dillinger Escape Plan, but still good.

Next up was For Today who I didn't know too much about. They were pretty good, but I was not prepared for the super preachy-ness that happened about 3 songs in. Even then, I still enjoyed them (outta my face ) at least they actually hold to their beliefs, unlike some other bands. Plus, even with the mini-sermon we got, they were still better than TDWP.

For Today
(The King)
Fearless
Saul of Tarsus (The Messenger)
Seraphim
Foundation
Under God
(The Breaker's Origin)
Devastator

I was 100% not looking forward to The Devil Wears Prada. The Zombie EP wasn't too bad, but they are still a god awful band. Their performance was awful, every song sounded the same, and the thing just dragged on and on. I even had a friend of mine who actually likes them say the same thing.

The Devil Wears Prada included:
Dez Moines
Assistant To The Regional Manager

Finally, the reason i drug myself all the way out to Lawrence, As I Lay Dying Been a fan of these guy for a very long time and they never disappoint live. I was especially excited for songs of Awaken, which I though was a good album. After keeping was stewing in the body heat of everyone there for long enough, they burst onstage with Cauterize, a new yet familiar song. They continued their set with tremendous energy the whole night. New songs aside, nothing was as good as hearing the old ones. I sang along just about the whole time, only complaint is that they now tend to stay away from the older and lesser known songs. Oh well, still a fantastic show.

As I Lay Dying
(Intro)
Cauterize
Forever
Confined
A Greater Foundation
94 Hours
Condemned
Anodyne Sea
Whispering Silence
Forsaken
Wasted Words
The Sound of Truth

--Encore--
Separation
Nothing Left
Through Struggle

For Today: 7/10
The Devil Wears Prada: 3/10
As I Lay Dying: 9.5/10
