I have to jump on the Morbid Angel discussion too. F is probably my favorite album of theirs. Also, I love Heretic. Some of Trey's best guitar work is on here, and those dual riffs in some of the songs absolutely rule, pretty unique too, imo. Idk if people don't like it because of the production, or because it has a weird, disjoint flow (the interlude tracks), but the actual songs are incredible.

EDIT: Nevermind, I thought you were referring to Formulas with your last sentence but now I realized you were referring to Heretic.
I think the production is a big reason people dislike it. It's pretty thin sounding.
There are still a lot of great riffs on that album though.
