Between the Buried and Me
(2007) Victory Records
Let me open with a disclaimer: if you're still under the impression that BTBAM are a metalcore band, shut up and listen to this album. While previous releases The Silent Circus
both contained elements of metalcore to a degree, the band should by no means be put in the same category. Their best release along with The Great Misdirect
is a masterpiece; timing in at over an hour with eight tracks, the album is beautiful yet savage, one of my favorite progressive metal albums of all time. Another thing to note is that though the album is not a concept album, I try to only listen to it in one sitting, instead of picking out tracks.
