It can be easy to dismiss Destruction... the old material is very good, but the production ruins it for the most part. The intensity and even speed is gone because the production isn't very good. But when you take Destruction's material to a live setting...
God fucking damn.
One of the most intense performances I've ever seen. Busting out classics and newer songs left and right for an hour and a half, and all of them sounding amazing! With only 3 guys on stage, they are superior live to most with even 5 or 6! Schmier and Mike were moving all over the place, with 3 microphones set up on the left, middle and right sides of the stages for Schmier to move around and not move back to one spot. Their new drummer is also really good, he got all the classics down really well which is what matters, because there were a lot of them live! Even though Destruction's new album wasn't very good, their live set was just phenomenal. One of the best headlining sets out there as well. I really hope the Kreator/Sodom/Destruction U.S. tour that Schmier mentioned at the show becomes a reality.
