The Darkness -- Cambridge, England -- November 20th, 2011

Have seen these before quite a few years ago and was a laugh so thought i'd check them out, cheap tickets, smallish venue and went with a couple of mates who arent in the metal scene so was good to go to a concert with them for a change.

Foxy shazam were the second support (cant remember the first) but tbh they were fucking wierd - i have seen some fucked up acts, but these were just wierd! Just cant describe them....

The Darkness on the other hand were.....OK....they tried really hard, had some good pyrotechnics for a small venue but the crowd averaged around 35-45 yrs of age and was mainly couples and there wasn't too much atmosphere.

The set included all the songs off of permission to land, a couple off the second album and a load of new stuff which no one knew.

Not the best gig (didn't expect it to be) and not the worst.

Setlist:

Intro: Boys are back in town
1.Black Shuck
2.Growing On Me
3.Best Of Me
4.One Way Ticket
5.Nothing's Gonna Stop Us
6.Get Your Hands Off My Woman
7.Out Of This World
8.Holding My Own
9.Love Is Only A Feeling
10.Concrete
11.Friday Night
12.Cannonball
13.Is It Just Me?
14.Street Spirit (Radiohead cover)
15.Givin' Up

Encore:
18.Bareback
19.Tie Your Mother Down (Queen cover)

21.Love On The Rocks With No Ice

Rating: a generous 6/10
