Necromance -- Allentown, PA -- August 20th, 2011
Hey everyone - I used to post reviews of my band's own shows a lot a few years ago, but I kinda stopped back around 2009-ish. Being that tonight we played our first full-band show in 6 months and debuted a bunch of new material, I figured it was time to throw up another one of these.
This was, as I said - our first full-band show in 6 months. Being that our bassist is actually a surrogate bassist from another band and all of us have had a lot of shit on our plate, we just haven't gotten the opportunity to play many shows in the area, so my sister and I have done almost a dozen acoustic shows around the area since May. In addition to it being our first show in 6 months, it was also the first time we played at the Sterling Hotel here in Allentown in about 2 years, as it was closed for a good year or more for remodeling and such.
Overall I was very happy with the set. Turnout was pretty good (we had about 20-25 people there for us, but there was a good number of other people there, many of them were quite into the show). The performance was solid - maybe a bit sloppy at times, but that was somewhat to be expected, largely because we played a handful of songs live for the very first time. But yes, overall I am pleased to say I was pretty happy with the performance.
